Our own Katherine O'Neil, Foundation advisory board member, is a featured panelist on a free one-hour ABA webinar on Wednesday, October 28 at noon Pacific Time. The topic is "Women Trailblazers Talk About Inclusion and Exclusion in the Legal Profession." Other panelists are Judge LaDoris Cordell, the first Black female judge in Northern California, and Marcia Greenberger, co-founder of the National Women's Law Center. Judge Mercedes Deiz wasn't the only trailblazer in the Deiz family! Here's a chance to learn more about her husband Carl and brother-in-law Robert who were Tuskegee Airmen.

We’re heading into the end of Black History Quest, the series, but don’t be sad, Pionerds, we still have two episodes to share!

Who were the Black Oregonians who participated in WWII as Tuskegee Airmen, and how did they contribute to the history of World War II, aviation history, and Oregon Black Pioneers? Join host Mariah Rocker and guest History Investigator Dave Hedberg, principal historian for Outdoor History Consulting, as they explore more in this penultimate Black History Quest! This presentation will share ongoing research about Robert and Carl Deiz, two brothers from Portland who trained as Tuskegee Airmen during WWII, and highlight how their local stories are part of a much larger national and global story.
