Friends of Portland Schools

Friends of Portland Schools Friends of Portland Schools is a group of Portland residents who want to share information about the upcoming May 11th referendum on school consolidation.

On May 11th, we hope you will join us in voting YES to renovating our old elementary schools, YES to "right-sizing" our school district through consolidation, and YES to taking advantage of $66.5 million in state funding to make it happen! We support the proposed renovation of Valley View and Gildersleeve elementary schools to ensure Portland students have access to safe, healthy, modern school facilities and an excellent education.

We continue to be so grateful for the community support this week!!!

"This referendum represents a decisive shift. It is an opportunity to step out of a pattern of reactive maintenance and into one of thoughtful, long-term investment. It is about creating learning environments that are safe, functional, and worthy of the students and educators who use them every day." - Chris Chenier
