Salvation Army Female Emergency Shelter Empowering women to move from homelessness to housing. SAFES is open to the public Monday - Friday from 10:15 AM - 1 PM for the Hospitality Program.

The building is located on the corner of W Burnside Street and 2nd Avenue at the west end of the Burnside Bridge; the entrance is on 2nd Ave. SAFES is in the Old Town district of downtown Portland and provides services to people who identify and present as female. There is access to hot meals, beverages, shower facilities, a clothing boutique, hygiene items, laundry services, and soft seating. In addition, there is Food Care on Wednesdays and Healing Touch on Thursdays.
