Montgomery Park to Hollywood (MP2H) Transit and Land Use Development Strategy – Open House

Exploring opportunities for land use and transit to better serve these major destinations.

Monday, March 2, 2020
5:00 – 7:30 PM
Metro Regional Center - Council Room
600 NE Grand Avenue
Portland, OR

The Montgomery Park to Hollywood Transit and Land Use Development Strategy (MP2H) project is considering equitable development plans for transit-oriented districts in NW Portland and NE Portland. Join project staff and fellow community members to explore opportunities for land use and transit that better serves these major destinations.

More about the project:
The MP2H study will identify land use and urban design, economic development and community benefit opportunities with a transit-oriented development scenario – including a potential streetcar extension – in both areas. The project will also consider how such opportunities could support the City’s racial equity, climate justice, employment and housing goals.

Open house agenda:
This workshop will give Portlanders a chance to learn more about the study, review existing conditions, and share your thoughts about how possible future development and transit service could best serve the areas.

Drop in any time between 5 – 7:30 p.m. If you enter after 6 p.m., please use the Metro plaza entrance off of NE Irving Street.

For more information about the Montgomery Park to Hollywood (MP2H) study, visit: https://beta.portland.gov/bps/mp2h.

Today is the last day to share your feedback on the Northwest in Motion project. Visit http://bit.ly/nwimmap to let PBOT know what you think. Then join us Wednesday to discuss the Northwest in Motion project at NWDA's Transportation Committee meeting.

We want to make Portland’s Northwest District safer and more convenient for walking, biking, and taking public transit. Through the Northwest in Motion project, we will develop a list of specific projects that can be built in and around the neighborhood over the next five years.

06/28/2019

And we're back! NWDA is so excited to start connecting with our neighbors via social media again! Keep an eye out for event postings that will detail when our next board and committee meetings will be, as well as cool things happening in the neighborhood!

"If a majority of the Portland Planning and Sustainability Commission has its way, new private buildings downtown will be required to include spaces where houseless Portlanders can "rest," which could include sleeping and pitching tents." "Magnera's proposal would stretch what's asked of developers and owners of new private buildings, such as stores and apartment complexes." Rather than come up with some solutions to reduce the number of homeless people and otherwise help those in need, those members of the commission advocating for requiring buildings to provide space for camping have come up with a most anti-development, anti-business proposal. Who is going to rent a storefront in one of these buildings knowing that there is a mandatory campsite that its customers will have to pass through, and possibly wade through the accumulation of objects and materials- some often very unsafe- that on numerous occasions accompany such camp sites? Absurd.
If you are concerned about e-scooters, a group of Portland residents have started Portland/Save Our Sidewalks in response to PBOT's failure to enforce e-scooter permit requirements and related City Code prohibiting scooters from riding on or blocking sidewalks. There is good information on the above page about these concerns, including similar issues in other cities. Please check it out!

Please add and share. I'm just one brand new momma looking for her fur baby who ran away from his pet sitters house. I know he's in Portland and I just need help spreading his picture around to see if anyone has seen him. He was last seen on Lombard and n interstate. Please feel free to call or text if you have seen him anywhere. Thank you 💛
