OR Residents: Urge the Oregon Senate to VOTE YES on SB 1095
SB 1095 would provide a smooth and simple solution for all state boards and commissions, including the Fish and Wildlife Commission structure, necessitated by recent redistricting in Oregon, ensuring that Oregonians continue to be proportionally represented by congressional districts.
The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission sets the fish and wildlife management policies for the state, including hunting methods and quotas. The Commissioners are currently drawn from each of the state’s congressional districts. The new addition of a 6th congressional district seat requires the legislature to fix the language for the Fish and Wildlife Commission.
Please send an email to your Oregon Senator and ask that they SUPPORT SB 1095 to maintain the congressional district model and that you OPPOSE the -1 amendment that would allow the commission to continue to be stacked with people with pro-hunting, fishing and trapping interests.
