So how about some fun?

Tomorrow, my boss, State Sen. Lew Frederick is going to revive his stage career to help Democrats win back a supermajority in the Oregon State Senate!

Sen. Frederick is going to SING solo and with a Motown group of notable guests crooning a SPECIAL TRIBUTE which you don’t want to miss! Jim Brunberg, musician, producer, and co-owner of Revolution Hall and Mississippi Studios will join the fun with his band Wonderly!

How does this relate to the election? Every penny we raise at this fundraiser will go toward winning purple, swing districts in the Oregon State Senate and securing a supermajority for Democrats in Salem.

There is NO COVER for this fun, 21+ event, but come and have fun and pitch in what you can to help Lew elect his colleagues!

As some of you may have heard, Peter Nordbye announced that he is dropping out of the race for a medical reason. Peter would have been a wonderful chair, but one's health comes first, and I wish him all the best.

Therefore, I would like to announce that I am proudly stepping forth to endorse KC Hanson as the next Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon.

From the time I got involved with the Multnomah County Democrats, KC Hanson has been someone who I have seen doing the hard work of democracy: working the phone banks, organizing the events, knocking the doors, getting out the vote, and fighting the fight.

When I became more involved in the party in 2016 as a Bernie supporter, as a newbie, and as a person seeking reform, KC was kind and respectful, even if we did not always agree. She never treated me like an interloper or tried to push me or others like me out of the Party. She is a level headed progressive who doesn't bully, marginalize, or shame newer, or reform-minded, progressives if there is disagreement.

I often quote KC's words: "We must not shut people out, but we also must not shove people out." We must honor the experience, tenure, and knowledge and skills of the people who have long done the heavy lifting and hard work - but we must also welcome, embrace, and leverage the power of those new to the political process.

As we move forward and continue to unite, build, and expand the Party, we need someone who doesn't just talk the talk, but also walks the walk. And that someone is KC.

That is why I am throwing 100% of my support behind KC Hanson. An experienced County Party Chair (Multnomah County), and former Chair and longtime leader of the Stonewall Caucus, which advocates for our LGBTQ communities - KC has the right set of talents, temperament, professionalism, and progressive values to lead our Party to victory in 2020.

Please join me in supporting, endorsing, and voting for KC Hanson as the next Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon!

Interesting article, and it bears out from what I have seen. However, please note that I have not and will not go negative in my run from chair of the DPO. Christine, Peter and I all agreed to have fun (and do the best we can).

Americans seek positive and negative information all the time — and it's particularly helpful to know about a candidate.
