With the new 126th Maine Legislature now sworn in, I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who supported me over the last two years as your Kittery state representative to the 125th. I decided against running for another term so I can spend more time with my growing family, but serving as Kittery’s voice in Augusta was a fantastic experience.
Thank you Kittery residents for your support, input, and civic participation over the past two years. It was a real honor to serve as your state representative in the Maine Legislature.
In particular I want to thank everyone who e-mailed, called or attended my monthly “Constituent Coffee Hours.” Your input was invaluable. Thanks also to The Firefly Diner, The Sunrise Grill, Noel’s Café & Coffeehouse, Chef’s Cove Café, Seaglass Café, Spruce Creek Café and the Kittery Community Center for graciously granting me space for these wonderful gatherings.
I am thrilled that during my brief tenure in Augusta, my bill to expand York County Community College was both passed and funded with bipartisan support. We will now have a precision machine tool training program at YCCC, which will prepare Mainers for high-skilled, good paying jobs.
Best of luck to my successor Deane Rykerson. I know he will be a strong and effective voice for Kittery in the Maine House of Representatives.
Happy New Year!
Sincerely,
Devin
