Two Boston Recruiting Company Soldiers (Staff Sgt. Carrigg and Staff Sgt. Velazquez) took part in the recent Kraus Coats drive. Along with coats, a local business, the Hair Cuttery, donated eight boxes of food to be given to the homeless and poor in our local community. Staff Sgt Chapman from the Quincy Recruiting Station, Quincy, Mass., recently helped renovate and remodel bathrooms at the Greentree Boys Home in Brockton, Mass. He spent Saturday, Jan. 28, assisting members from nearby Glad Tiding Church tearing out old walls, tiles and flooring to gain access to water-damaged areas and to repair pipes. The end result was not only a cleaner, safer environment for the tenants at the home, but an increased awareness among others that Soldiers are a part of their community and that they care.

Staff Sgt Geiszler from the West Roxbury Recruiting Station, West Roxbury, Mass. recently conducted a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) class designed to give students at Brighton High School an overview of the science behind the creation and use of the military's Meals-ready-to-Eat (MRE). He gave this class to an audience of 40 students and the Assistant Headmaster. Through his professionalism and knowledge of the subject, Geiszler quickly established credibility and gained the trust of the students and faculty during the class. Afterwards, the school's Assistant Headmaster said that the Army should be allowed to teach the MRE STEM class to all her science classes - a real compliment to Geiszler and another example of the Army's commitment to the community.
