🌡️ HEAT ADVISORY FOR RHODE ISLAND 🌡️
A prolonged period of hot and humid weather is expected to affect Rhode Island over the next several days. High temperatures combined with elevated humidity can increase the risk of heat-related illness, especially for older adults, young children, individuals with chronic medical conditions, and those working or exercising outdoors.
Please take the following precautions:
💧 Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
☀️ Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
👕 Wear lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.
🏠 Spend time in air-conditioned buildings whenever possible.
👥 Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may not have access to air conditioning.
🚫 Avoid leaving children or pets unattended in vehicles for any length of time.
