The Atlantic editors have named 7 books you'll never outgrow. What do you think of this list? How many have you read? Or better yet, re-read?

Some stories are worth revisiting at every stage of life.

The Fable Bar, London - Drawing inspiration from fairy tales and Aesop's fables, the appropriately-named Fable Bar is like a little fantasy land in the middle of central London's Holborn district.

Expect to see literary decor, booths encased by books, and cocktails with names like the Candy Shop and Bramble Forest.

Did you know...the Mary E. Bartlett Memorial Library was chosen for a New Hampshire Humanities' Civic Life and Belonging Grant? We are using this money to develop a 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution series of programs and activities. Up first in our series is a presentation on Wednesday, May 20th at 6:30PM by Meg Mott called How The Constitution Helps Us Disagree. (full description in the comments) We are so thankful to New Hampshire Humanities for choosing Brentwood!

🎉BIG NEWS!🎉 The library will officially be reopening on June 5th!

Your librarians have A LOT of work ahead of them so starting on Monday, April 20th we will be holding limited library hours in Room 306 of the McConnell Center (where most of our events have been held):

📆Mondays – 9 AM to 8:30 PM
📆Wednesdays – 9 AM to 5 PM

As we begin to move our books back into the library, you’ll notice a smaller collection available. We will continue to have books for all ages from babies to adults, but only the newest (what we have purchased within the last 6 months). And that book you’ve been waiting for since January? Don’t worry. We’ll keep those wait lists moving right along, but new reservations will only be allowed for new items.

Other services we will have in Room 306 during this time:
💻4 public computers with printing capabilities
📰Magazines and newspapers to read in-house
🏛Museum passes

We will also be offering limited in person programming:
👧Preschool Storytimes on Mondays at 10 AM (next door in Room 305, starting in May--except for Memorial Day)
👩‍👧‍👦Family Storytimes on Wednesdays at 10 AM (Room 305, starting in May)
✏️Author & Illustrator Marty Kelley for April school vacation on Wednesday, April 29 at 10:30 AM (Dover City Hall Auditorium)
🥀The 24th annual Poetry Contest (dates to be announced)

We are excited to welcome the community back to our beautiful newly renovated space! We can’t wait for you to see it!
