IT'S HERE! Spread the word, and be an advocate for the Portsmouth Free Public Library ... as well as all the public libraries! September is Library Card Sign Up month! Did you know that out of around a population of roughly 17,500 people, we have about 5,500 residents with an active library card? That's still a lot of people missing out on all of our services and free programs! Stop by the library to fill out an application - all we need is proof of R.I. residency. Or, submit an application online at https://portsmouthlibrary.oslri.net/application and we can email one to you, or you can receive a digital only card.

The end of August is sort of like our New Year here at the Portsmouth Library. We clean things out, reset our spaces, start planning our Fall and Winter/Holiday programming ... and we love every minute of it! It's our yearly fresh start to coincide with the new school year and end of summer.

For our families missing our story time schedule, they start back up again September 15th! Please note the *10:00am* start times for all story times. Check our calendar at portsmouthlibrary.org for all offerings and any changes. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there!
