Register for the run and support the Coast Guard family! The CGMA Color Rush will be great fun for you and your CG family but it will also pull together key funds to support the CGMA. What is CGMA? CGMA is our nonprofit relief society that grants and loans financial assistance to all employees and retirees of the Coast Guard. From disaster assistance, education grants, and day-to-day assistance, CGMA is there to help support members of the Coast Guard Family.

You can help your fellow Coasties by making an allotment. Allotments can be started through your local CGMA representative at participating Coast Guard units and can also secure your spot! Not sure who that is? Email [email protected].

Members of the military community are invited to join us on a one-mile fun run/walk across the base - wear a white t-shirt, but don’t expect to leave that way! Work your way through color stations where volunteers will splatter you with colorful, eco-friendly powder.

Afterward, stay for MWR's Community Health Fair, featuring health-conscious vendors and giveaways, as well as concessions for purchase. Expect to see some friendly faces including USAA, Warrant Realty, First Command, and USO Hampton Roads.

Registration opens on February 21st. Ticketing begins at $12/adult and $6 /child (ages 4 and up). Ages 3 and under are FREE! The family rate is available for $35.

What is CGMA? CGMA is our nonprofit relief society that grants and loans financial assistance to all employees and retirees of the Coast Guard. From disaster assistance, education purposes, and day-to-day assistance to help fill in the gaps in order to live a full life.

ADVANCED REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RUN. The run begins at 0900. You will be able to begin any time until 1030. The color stations will promptly close at 1100. Community Health Fair and concessions will remain open until noon.

For everyone's safety, all children must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times while onboard USCG Base Portsmouth.

**Base access is required to participate. Masks are currently mandated inside federal buildings regardless of vaccination status.

Come get your workout on at our Gymnasium facilities! Open to all military card holders/ MWR eligible patrons. There are plenty of workout rooms available, from indoor weightlifting and cardio equipment, to a CrossFit style outdoor space packed with gear to use on the court.

Penny Haley- USCG Base Portsmouth MWR Wheelhouse Restaurant

Penny Haley has worked for the MWR family for over 10 years. She serves in the Wheelhouse Restaurant on USCG Base Portsmouth as an integral part of our MWR community. As we bring back in-room dining for the Wheelhouse, please check out the efforts and enthusiasm that members of our crew- like Penny- who continue to provide exceptional service to our MWR patrons. With years of skills under her belt, Penny brings life to the many healthy and delicious menu items available at the Wheelhouse. She recently helped prepare these Smothered Pork Chops in honor of Black History month, grateful to be able to feature a dish that she can relate to and enjoy sharing with others. Penny comments about her love for her role at the Wheelhouse, "I love seeing people come together over a good meal. Making people happy is why I do this job." Penny continues to serve with a passion and purpose for the Coast Guard community, Base Portsmouth attached units, and all MWR eligible patrons. Wheelhouse re-opens for in-room dining Tuesday, Feb. 22nd.

Some updates to share: The Wheelhouse Restaurant will be closed for lunch today and closed all day on Monday, along with all other MWR facilities in honor of President's Day! The Wheelhouse will re-open for in-room dining on Tuesday, Feb. 22nd! Can't wait to see you all there for breakfast and lunch again! Masks still required in all Base buildings.
