Join us at Main Library on Saturday, July 25 at 11:00 AM for a free performance of Every Brilliant Thing by the Virginia Stage Company!

Funny, moving, and filled with audience interaction, Every Brilliant Thing tells the story of one person's journey through love, loss, and finding joy in life's smallest moments. It's an uplifting reminder that hope can often be found in unexpected places, while opening the door to honest conversations about mental health with warmth, humor, and compassion.

We are so thankful for Friends of the Portsmouth Public Library and the incredible role they played in helping bring Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Portsmouth to life!

Their generous $20,000 gift was a huge part of helping us reach our goal and launch this opportunity for Portsmouth families.

Because of support like this, more young children can receive free, high-quality books at home — month after month — and start building a love of reading from the very beginning.

We love what can happen when a community comes together around children, literacy, and possibility. Thank you for helping make this happen!
