Our San Bois CASA Volunteer Spotlight for the month of May is Kaleb Sherfield! Kaleb has been a CASA Volunteer since December 2021 and has served 6 families involving 13 children. He is a bold and unwavering voice for the children he serves, consistently advocating for their best interests while building strong, trusting relationships with each child.

Words from his Advocate Supervisor, Tristian McCool:

“Kaleb always gives the children he serves a voice when they feel they don’t have one. He is always willing to do whatever needs to be done to make sure the children are safe, happy, and at peace. I can always count on him.”

As Child Abuse Prevention/Awareness Month concluded, Advocate Supervisor Tristian McCool attended the Coal County Commissioner’s Meeting where a proclamation was signed recognizing April as Child Abuse Awareness Month. In support of this important cause, pinwheels were placed along the front lawn of the courthouse, serving as a visible reminder of the commitment to protecting children and raising awareness in the community.
