🦖🌿 Unearth a Story with us this summer at Patrick Lynch Public Library! 🌿🦖

Our Summer Reading Program officially kicks off May 18 with Dino Squad at 11 AM! Join us for an exciting dinosaur adventure with real fossils, models, art, and all things prehistoric. It’s going to be ROAR-some! 🦕✨

Then keep the fun going on May 19 from 10–11 AM with our Summer Reading Kickoff Party featuring games, storytime, a craft, and your chance to grab your summer reading log bookmarks!

📚 Starting May 18, you can pick up your reading log bookmarks anytime at the library. Each completed bookmark becomes an entry into our grand prize drawings for these age groups:

🦖 Ages 0–3
🦕 Ages 4–7
🦴 Ages 8–12
🌋 Ages 13–17

The more you read, the more bookmarks you can enter into the drawing! Grand prize winners will be drawn July 6.

👀 Stay tuned because we’ll be posting pictures of the grand prizes next week! We can’t wait to spend the summer reading, exploring, and digging into adventures with all of you!

Here’s what’s happening at the library this week! 📚✨

We’ve got Storytime, teen programs, crochet, Crafternoon, S.A.I.L. exercise, and the Poteau Valley Genealogical Society monthly meeting all coming up this week at Patrick Lynch Public Library!

Teens definitely won’t want to miss our Science Fiction Genre Jam on Tuesday or our DIY Ramen Bar Cooking Club on Wednesday. 🍜🚀

And don’t forget… our Summer Reading Program “Unearth a Story” kicks off May 18 at 11 AM with Traveling Dinos! 🦖

This morning at Storytime, we celebrated Mother’s Day by reading Grumpy Monkey Mom For a Day and then our friends made these super cute Mother’s Day lanterns. 💐

They turned out adorable, and everyone did such a great job creating something special for their moms and mother figures.

The ALSC (Association for Library Service to Children) 2026 Summer Reading Lists are now available.

The 2026 Summer Reading Lists feature book titles and digital media options to keep children engaged in reading and exploring throughout the summer. Four lists are available for birth-preschool and grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8 and ready to share with families, and students.

🦖 Our Summer Reading Program is kicking off with something ROAR-some! 🦕

Join us Monday, May 18 at 11am for Dino Squad: A Traveling Dinos Exhibit at Patrick Lynch Public Library!

Kids will get to see real fossils, dinosaur models, paleo art, and even meet Vela the Velociraptor! 👀🦖

This fun event is part of our summer reading theme, “Unearth a Story,” and we can’t wait to dig into a summer full of dinosaurs, adventures, books, and hands-on fun with our community.

Be sure to stop by and pick up all the info on how to track summer reading minutes for chances to win prizes and grand prize drawings for every age group!
