🏴‍☠️🔥 PIRATE NATION IS HEADED TO NATIONALS! 🔥🏴‍☠️

The Poth High School BBQ Team, Pirate Nation is packing up the pits and heading to The Colony, Texas, to represent both Poth and the great State of Texas at the National High School BBQ Championship!

In their very first year of competition, these talented students have accomplished something truly remarkable, earning a spot on the national stage. This achievement is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and passion for BBQ excellence.

The team will be competing in:
🧀 Gourmet Grilled Cheese
🥩 Ribeye
🍰 Dutch Oven Upside-Down Cake
🍗 Chicken Lollipops
🐖 Pork Spare Ribs
🥪 Pulled Pork

🚚🌟 Our 5th graders wrapped up their annual Food Truck Small Business Project at the end of the year, and the results were incredible!

This cross-curricular experience challenged students to become entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, writers, and problem-solvers as they created their own food truck businesses from the ground up.

📐 Math: Designed truck layouts and calculated area, dimensions, and food costs
🔬 Science: Engineered durable truck structures while developing logos, slogans, playlists, and marketing ideas
📚 RLA: Explored culinary creativity through Chef Roy Choi and the Street Food Remix and crafted unique clay food creations
🌎 Social Studies: Wrote owner statements explaining the cultural influences and history behind their businesses

From concept to creation, students combined creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and real-world application to bring their visions to life.

Pirate Summer Camps are officially underway! ☀️🏴‍☠️

Girls 🥎 Softball and Boys 🏀 Basketball kicked off our summer camps last week, and our young Pirates brought the energy, effort, and team spirit all week long!

We loved seeing our campers learning new skills, building confidence, and having fun with their teammates.

Next up, starting tomorrow: Girls 🏀 Basketball and Baseball ⚾️!

Nothing brings people together quite like BBQ hamburgers on a school day! 🍔 🔥

A huge THANK YOU to Outlaw Catering, John Dziuk, our HS students and Board President Clint Garza for spending the day cooking and serving up an amazing meal for our kiddos at the end of the school year. Your time, hard work, and generosity helped create such a fun 🤩 atmosphere across campus.

From happy smiles and thumbs up to great conversations and positive vibes all around, it was one of those special days that reminded us how lucky we are to have such a supportive community.

PHS is making history! 🎉🩺

We want to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported our CTE Healthcare Pathway students as they achieved an incredible milestone. These four seniors are the first in PHS history to earn both their CET (Certified EKG Technician) and CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certifications!

Their success is a true reflection of hard work, dedication, and the strong support from parents, staff, and our community. We are so proud of these students and all they have accomplished.

The excitement continues as 6 of our juniors will be testing over the next two days next week, and we look forward to sharing more great news soon!

Thank you all for your commitment and teamwork in helping our students succeed and prepare for bright futures in healthcare. 💙
