The tornado sirens were tested more than once today, one of the sirens is not working on N. Missouri / Blount Street.
They are aware it is not working, and have contacted the company that repairs them, and they will be fixing them as soon as possible.

The City of Potosi is issuing a mandatory water boil on High Street from North Missouri Street - Water Street.
This is a 48-hour water boil order due to a water main break.

Mayor’s Project & Grant Update

I wanted to take a moment to update everyone on the many projects happening throughout the City of Potosi. Thanks to the hard work of our employees, engineers, contractors, and grant partners, we’re continuing to make progress on improving our community.

Here’s where things stand:

* Mine Street Bridge: The bridge is now open to traffic! The final phase of paving will begin in early August, which will require a short road closure of approximately three days while the final surface is completed.
* City Park Bridge: Construction is underway and remains on schedule. We expect this project to be completed by October.
* Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements: Major equipment is scheduled to arrive this month, with installation continuing through August to modernize our treatment facility.
* Water System Improvements: This project is complete, with only final paperwork and reimbursements remaining before it is officially closed out.
* Senior Center Project: Design work is nearly complete, and engineers are preparing bid documents as we continue working to secure the additional funding needed to move forward.
* Downtown & Community Safety: We will soon begin repainting crosswalks throughout town and installing new solar-powered flashing crosswalk signs in high-traffic and congested areas to improve pedestrian safety.
* Planning & Cybersecurity: We continue working on long-term planning initiatives and implementing new cybersecurity measures to better protect the City’s technology systems.
* Grants: We are currently waiting to hear back on several grant applications and are actively preparing additional grant requests to bring even more investment into Potosi.

We’re committed to making steady improvements while being responsible with taxpayer dollars and taking advantage of every grant opportunity available.
