As temperatures climb, it’s important to take care of yourself while enjoying the great outdoors. Whether you’re hiking, biking, swimming, or fishing, a little preparation goes a long way in keeping your day fun and safe!
🔥 Heat Safety Essentials • Drink plenty of water—before, during, and after your activity
• Take breaks in the shade to cool down
• Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing and sun protection
• Start early in the morning or go later in the evening to avoid peak heat
• Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke
🚶 Hiking & 🚴 Biking
Trails can heat up fast. Carry extra water, pace yourself, and don’t push too hard when temps soar.
🏊 Swimming
Even when you’re in the water, the sun can take a toll. Keep hydrated and take shade breaks between swims.

Bring along a sun hat and plenty of water. If your spot has no shade, create some with an umbrella or canopy.
