🌳 Preparing for Winter in Lower Pottsgrove Township! ❄️

Our Public Works Department is out and about trimming trees and branches back from roadways where needed to help prepare for the upcoming winter season and snow plowing operations.

This work will help ensure our plow trucks and other equipment can safely and effectively clear our roads when winter weather arrives.

Adventure Grove represents more than a place to play. Creating welcoming, accessible public spaces also provides an opportunity to think about safety, and accessibility for everyone. Ensuring that children and families of all abilities can enjoy public spaces is an important part of building a resilient, inclusive community.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced that resurfacing operations are planned this week on several state highways under multiple ongoing contracts to repair, resurface, and improve more than 240 miles of state highways across the five-county region.

Weather permitting, drivers are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Montgomery County

• Monday, October 12, through Friday, October 16, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure with flagging will be in place on Route 663 (King Street/Charlotte Street) between Route 100 (Pottstown Boyertown Bypass) and Swamp Pike in Pottstown Borough, Lower Pottsgrove Township, and New Hanover Township for milling, paving, and utility work.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur.

Welcome to our new Police Chief, William James! 👮‍♂️

Strong leadership and coordination are essential to keeping our community prepared, resilient, and safe. We look forward to working alongside Chief James and the Police Department to strengthen collaboration, preparedness, and response efforts throughout our community.

Congratulations, Chief James, and best wishes as you begin this new chapter of service.

On October 5, 2026, at the Lower Pottsgrove Township meeting, William James was promoted to Chief of Police of the Lower Pottsgrove Township Police Department. Chief James was sworn in by Judge Kropp. Chief James has served the department for 28 years, and has 31 total years in law enforcement. Chief James was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2014, and to Lieutenant in 2020. Chief James has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Wilmington University. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Class 267. He is also a graduate of the FBI LEEDA Trilogy, the FBI Mid Atlantic Law Enforcement Executive Seminar, and many other law enforcement courses.
