Due to the forecasted storms in the evening hours of 8/27, the overnight road work will take place on Monday 8/31 from 7:00 PM-6:00 AM

🚧 OVERNIGHT ROAD WORK NOTICE 🚧

The traffic lights at the intersection of E. High St. and Rupert Rd. will be set to flashing from 7:00 PM–7:00 AM on Wednesday, August 26, and Thursday, August 27 for overnight road work.

Please use extra caution when traveling through the intersection and watch for road crews and changing traffic patterns.

As students, teachers, and families head back to school, let’s all do our part to make safety a priority!

🚗 Slow down and stay alert in school zones and around buses.
🚌 Give school buses plenty of space and never pass a stopped bus with flashing red lights.
🚶 Watch carefully for students walking and biking to school.
📵 Put the phone down and keep your attention on the road.
🏫 Follow school drop-off and pick-up procedures and be patient—everyone’s safety comes first!

This is a MontcoSAFER Notification

This is Situational Awareness Notice #26-20-001 for the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety. This report applies to the Severe Weather and Flash Flooding Possible Thursday - August 27th.

Significant event details and developments:

Hazards: Heavy downpours with rainfall rates up to 1 to 3 inches per hour may lead to localized flash flooding of urban and poor drainage areas, creeks, and streams. Scattered severe thunderstorms possible, with damaging winds being the primary threat.

Impacts: Localized flash flooding may result in road closures and water level rises in local rivers and streams. Isolated damaging wind gusts may result in localized tree damage and power outages.

Location: The areas most at risk for flash flooding and severe thunderstorms is currently projected to be from the I-95 corridor and points north and west.

Timing: Showers and thunderstorms could begin to develop as early as noon today but the bulk of the activity should be between 2 PM and 10 PM this afternoon into tonight.

Concrete Paving Scheduled at Night Next Week on U.S. 422 West in Montgomery, Chester Counties

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that concrete paving will occur at night next week on westbound U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County and North Coventry Township, Chester County.

Drivers are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Tuesday, August 25, and Wednesday, August 26, from 6:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, a lane closure will be in place on westbound U.S. 422 between the Sanatoga (Evergreen Road) and Hanover Street interchanges.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

This work is part of PennDOT’s $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway and replace bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township.

As our kids head back to school, let’s make sure safety is on the checklist too!

It's that time again: Back-to-school is under way! 🚌🚸

Let's keep students safe as they get to and from school each day.

- Stop for buses with stop arms extended and flashing red lights 🛑
- Remind kids to wait for buses back from the curb ➡️
- Drivers: Be alert for kids on and near the road 👀
- Teach kids not to cross streets behind a school bus 🚫
- Remind kids about looking both ways before walking on the road 🙂‍↔️

Road Work Update – E. High Street 🚧

Please be aware of upcoming road work near Turkey Hill on E. High Street. Weather permitting:

📅 Monday, Aug. 24 & Tuesday, Aug. 25
Daytime milling and paving will take place on the shoulder of High Street.

🌙 Wednesday, Aug. 26 & Thursday, Aug. 27
PennDOT road work is scheduled from 6:00 PM–6:00 AM.

Please allow extra travel time, use caution, and watch for work crews in the area. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
