The end of the school year always brings a flood of special events and activities. This year there were so many positive things happening in our district, it was hard to report all of them in our weekly,That Was The Week That Was news feature. In order to try and recognize some of the events we missed I share with you, Catch Up Thursday.
* The Rupert staff makes an I'MPACT. Building strong school and community relationships by making education up close and personal is one of the reasons the staff and principal take time to pay home visits to students and families to celebrate their achievement.

* MIDDLE SCHOOL auditorium was filled with family and friends to celebrate eighth grade awards. Students recognized for their achievement in academics, citizenship, the arts, athletics and curricular activities. They take the next step on their way to becoming the PHS class of 2030 and help establish a foundation for their future. * Recognizing Student Achievement Superintendent Stephen Rodriguez makes recognizing student academic achievement, an up close and personal event. During the last weeks of school, he paid personal visits to each school and presented students who had made the highest academic achievement in their class with certificates of recognition.

* Franklin Reading Picnic
Students and families had a beautiful day to grab a good book and snack and enjoy some family time. Thanks to NAACP of Pottstown for donating books for students to add to their personal libraries.

* Good Citizenship
Barth elementary celebrates students' good school citizenship with the end of year quality club picnic.

* District On Mission
Preparing each student, by name, for success at every level. Rupert and PHS grad Yasmin Paez returned home to say thanks for preparing me to graduate from Syracuse University with a degree in Forensics.

* Senior Walk bridges the gap of past present and future
Before last week‘s graduation ceremony seniors put on their caps and gowns to return to their former elementary schools and Middle School to walk the halls one last time. They were greeted with high-fives, cheers, and hugs from teachers, who started them and the younger students who dream of standing in their shoes one day. The tradition has such strong, emotional attachments as evidenced by two seniors, whose families moved out of the district years ago, returned to Rupert and joined their former classmates in the walk, One of them traveled all the way from Delaware to take one last opportunity to thank his teachers. Seniors weren’t the only ones wanting to savor the moment as several retired Rupert teachers returned for the walk.

* PHS Pep Rally 2026 Thanks to Miss, Katie, Minger and her video students for sharing a birds eye view of what the high school Spring pep rally looked like in 2026.

* Unified Track Championships Trojan Proud of our Unified Track student athletes who represent our school and community with pride,honor and good sportsmanship.

* Not Your Average Mascot Trojan man is far from your average high school mascot who shows up at athletic events to generate enthusiasm. The group of students under the mentorship of Mr. Dave Woodley, are dedicated advocates for change raising support for childhood cancer research and championing mental health awareness initiatives. From our high school hallways to the elementary classrooms they’ve even designed and published their own educational coloring book to inspire young learners.
The Trojan Man Club helps to build a positive supportive culture in our schools and community, and gives us more reason to say, proud to be from Pottstown.

Superintendent Update #99: District Events

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Calendars for 2026-2027

2026-2027 District Calendar - The first day of school is August 24, 2026

Six-Day Cycle Calendar 2026-2027

Reminder: District offices closed on Fridays during the summer

FINAL UPDATE:

Trojan Proud of all of our students and staff who are engaged in our district mission: “Prepare each student, by name, for success at every level”. Just take a quick look as we shine the spotlight on some of our district's achievements this past week and you will understand why we have lots of reasons to say, Proud to be from Pottstown.

Taking to the Field: Middle Schoolers Learn History - Our 8th-grade gifted students, led by Mr. David Caldwell, toured the historic grounds of Gettysburg (including McPherson’s Ridge and Little Round Top) following a unit on the Civil War. This hands-on trip beautifully connected classroom learning with real-world history.

Spring Sports Student-Athletes Earn Honors - Congratulations to our Spring Sports athletes for their hard work on the field and in the classroom! In addition to the All-Conference and All-Academic team selections, special congratulations go to Anthony Suber (Unified Track) for earning the prestigious Citizen Athlete Award for excellence in leadership, academics, and citizenship.

Rupert 4th Graders Learn the Art of Baking - Our Rupert Elementary 4th graders are bringing a whole new meaning to "breaking bread" with our community! Through a virtual partnership with King Arthur Bakery, Rupert Elementary 4th graders learned the science of baking bread from scratch. Students received take-home baking kits and shared their homemade loaves with family and neighbors, building both culinary skills and community connections.

146 and Counting: Trojan Proud of the Class of 2026 - Congratulations to the 240 graduates of the PHS Class of 2026—our 146th and largest graduating class in years! They join over 21,270 alumni as they head into higher education, the military, and the workforce. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/watch/live/?ref=watch_permalink&v=1690115868694535

E.B. Barth Elementary School students celebrated the last day of school with a playground bash! Students were joined by family and friends for a fun-filled afternoon of activities and some well-deserved, refreshing ice cream!

Thank you to our community partners who stepped up to ensure our students are set up for a fantastic summer.

The Pottstown NAACP Chapter provided free books through their Road To Read program! Our students were able to choose a book to take home and keep for their personal libraries.

Phi Beta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. provided "power carry bags" packed with nutritional snacks to keep our students fueled and energized for all their summertime outdoor adventures! We have Branch Life Church to thank for providing the ice cream!

Thank you to our partners, families, and educators for investing in the well-being and success of our students!

Another reason we say, 🤍💙
