Empire Hook & Ladder Co. Station 69-C Empire Hook & Ladder Co. of Pottstown Fire Dept. Montgomery County Station 69-C Originally organized as Sun Rise Hose Co.

In August of 1876 name changed to Empire Hook & Ladder Co. #1. Within 6 months the company was in service. The company moved to it's present location in 1884. From these quarters, good and faithful service has continued for over 130 years. The Borough of Pottstown is covered by 4 fire stations. The fire department was established in 1871. Each of the borough's stations is manned by a full time paid driver 24/7.

For incoming storm of Sandy Please stay safe, do not drive through flood waters turn around don't drown. Stock up on water and non perishable food items! A Good idea is fill up plastic freezer bags with water and put them in your freezer will not only help your food stay nice and cold if power goes out but will also be good use for water to drink down the road.

262 King St. at King Street Commons for a commercial building fire at 1608 hours on 12/08 (heavy smoke reported in apt 721 switched for fireground 2), 430 Elm St. at Wexford Apartments building A and B for a building at 0915 hours on 12/09, High St and Armand Hammer Blvd. for an odor of gas outside at 0935 hours on 12/10, 1520 High St. at the Wawa for an odor of gas outside at 1236 hours on 12/11, High St and Armand Hammer Blvd. for an odor of gas outside at 1725 hours on 12/11.

As employees began work for the day at Boscovs in the Coventry Mall, Chester County, they noticed a small fire.

Chief-69 reports fire in a three story bar on the first floor and apartments above. Crews placed several hand lines in service. Command ordered all companies out of the building and placed master stream in service. All searches were negative.
