Our 7/8 STEAM students wrapped up Unit 4 by exploring robotics, coding, and engineering with Sphero BOLT+ robots! Students learned how to program their robots, experiment with coding commands, test their ideas, troubleshoot problems, and make improvements along the way. Through hands-on challenges, they practiced critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.

To finish the unit, student teams presented their original robot challenges and demonstrated their creations in action! From explaining their code to showing how their robots navigated their challenges, students had the opportunity to share their hard work, explain their thinking, and showcase what they learned. Great job to our STEAM students for bringing their ideas to life through coding, creativity, and innovation!

After reading a portion of The Hunger Games, Mrs. Hercolini's classes created their own tributes! The students had to apply the characterization techniques to their original characters. They also had to write a scene depicting their character within the world of Panem! Students then participated in a gallery walk to view the newly created tributes! They peer reviewed and left 'glows' based on certain criteria. Students enjoyed being able to create and connect with literature!

Check out what Montco360 has been up to! Students are measuring volume, diameter, and radius using various precision tools: calipers (.001 in) , engineers scale (1/64 in), and (not shown) displacement method (10 ml: .2 ml graduated cylinder).

Students used their phones to take photos of the scale to zoom in and read to the nearest 1/64 more accurately.
