We would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the New York State Police for recently welcoming our Youth Cadets for an informative and engaging tour of Troop K Headquarters here in Dutchess County.

Our Cadets had the opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the New York State Police, the many different roles and specialized career paths available to Troopers, and the dedication required to serve communities across New York State.

The Cadets also had the opportunity to experience the new driving simulator, where they learned firsthand about the dangers and consequences of distracted driving. It was an interactive experience that provided an important lesson in making safe and responsible decisions behind the wheel.

We are extremely grateful to all of the members of the New York State Police who took the time to welcome our Cadets, share their knowledge and experiences, and make the afternoon both educational and enjoyable.

Thank you for opening your doors, investing in our youth, and helping us provide our Cadets with positive experiences that strengthen their understanding of and relationship with law enforcement. We truly appreciate your partnership and hospitality!

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office is excited to join the City of Poughkeepsie, Town of Poughkeepsie, Town of Fishkill, and Town of East Fishkill as we come together to celebrate National Night Out!

National Night Out is all about bringing law enforcement and our communities together by building relationships, strengthening partnerships, and enjoying a fun-filled evening with the families we proudly serve.

Some of our Youth Cadets have been staying busy this summer! We would like to thank the City of Beacon Police Department for opening up their summer program this year and allowing several of our youth to participate. The kids are undoubtedly benefiting from the opportunity.

Despite the program year ending, the cadets will be very active in the summer months ahead.

First, they will be providing a colorguard and marching in the Hyde Park Fourth of July parade, as well as also providing colorguards for the Hudson Valley Renegades on July 3 and July 4.

Come out to support our community, meet some of our kids and learn about the program!

Last weekend we were able to enjoy some team building activities at Liberty Paintball in Patterson, NY.

We spent the day using learned tactics and strategies on the playing fields, making for some epic memories.

We would like to thank the Liberty staff for their hospitality and service. Many laughs were had, with even more memories made. 🙌

Tuesday evening, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office and PBA Youth Cadets Post 108 proudly celebrated the graduation of our 2025-2026 Youth Cadet Class.

Over the past year, these dedicated young men and women have demonstrated leadership, commitment, and a passion for serving their community. Through training, mentorship, and community involvement, they have gained valuable skills that will help guide them in their future endeavors.

We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and look forward to seeing what the future holds for each of them.
