Morgan Lake

Morgan Lake Morgan Lake is an urban fishery and park located on Creek Road in the City of Poughkeepsie, NY. Photos on the page are uploaded by Joclyn.

The Morgan Lake page is managed by Joclyn Wallace, City of Poughkeepsie Adopt-A-Park Program Volunteer. Page events are created by Joclyn, too. Through the Adopt-A-Park Program, Joclyn started the Morgan Lake Revitalization Project. The mission of the project is to keep Morgan Lake litter free by assisting the City of Poughkeepsie DPW with park maintenance and also to promote use of the park through free community events.

In April 2012, Morgan Lake was "adopted" by Poughkeepsie native Joclyn Wallace through the City of Poughkeepsie DPW Adopt-A-Park Program. Wallace was recently transferred to a position in Albany, NY and is ready to find an individual, group and/or organization to take over what she calls the Morgan Lake Revitalization Project (helping the DPW keep the park litter-free for visitors and wildlife). ***Hours of Operation Extended at City Pools***

Poughkeepsie Mayor Rob Rolison declares that City pools will extend hours to provide residents relief from the current heat and humidity conditions.

City pools normally close at 7:00 pm, but starting tonight (Saturday, August 13th) the operating hours at Spratt Pool will be extended to 8:00 pm (Pulaski Pool will close at its normal time, 7:00 pm).

On Sunday, August 14th, both pools will remain open until 8:00 pm. The pools will continue to operate on this extended schedule during the current heat wave. City Staff will monitor the weather outlook and work with the pool staff to facilitate these hours.

The Mayor extends his thanks to the operators of the pools, Kimberly and Thomas Bell, for their dedication to providing this invaluable resource to the residents of our community. They have committed to ensuring that staff is in place in order to facilitate this task. The pools are one of those assets we take for granted until we have a heat wave such as we are currently in.
