Running for office is not easy and we are incredibly grateful to have had such a great group of people like Alex. I think you'll agree that his post is a perfect example of why we supported him.

Gracious in victory and gracious in defeat, that's how I was raised.

I want to start by congratulating my opponent, Barbara Laird, for her victory. It was a hard-fought and respectful campaign and I was proud of how hard I worked. I look forward to working with her and the rest of the board to continue making Poughkeepsie a better place.

I also want to thank all who supported and voted for me. I learned a lot during this campaign process and will take away a lot from the experience.

And most importantly, I want to thank my amazing wife and kids for their next level support. All of the time away from them to campaign was difficult, but they never waivered and continued to encourage me to work harder and harder.

I got into this campaign to make this a better town for my family. The work to do that is far from over and one doesn't have to be in public office to accomplish this goals. I'm going to continue to work hard on that goal in any way that I can.

Thank you again for the votes, support and enthusiasm for my campaign. The work is just beginning and we will come back stronger as a party from this moment.
