GET TO KNOW THE SOUND OF NASHVILLE ARTISTS PART 5 - HEADLINER, CRAIG MORGAN

Singer, author, actor, and soldier Craig Morgan has made a name for himself as a country music hitmaker who has amassed more than 2.5 billion career streams and charted over 25 songs on Billboard. With signature hits including “Redneck Yacht Club,” “Almost Home,” “International Harvester,” “Soldier,” “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” and his faith-filled tribute, “The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost,” the multi-faceted entertainer’s music has formed the soundtrack to our lives for over two decades. Craig received one of country music’s highest honors when he was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 2008. Prior to becoming a country music star and TV sensation, Craig spent seventeen years serving our country in the Army and Army Reserve and in 2023 enlisted again in the Army Reserve, continuing his military career as a Chief Warrant Officer 2. He remains an avid supporter of America’s military personnel and has made nearly two dozen overseas trips to perform for our troops. Craig is a member of the U.S. Field Artillery Hall of Fame and recipient of the USO Merit Award. In 2018, he was awarded the Army’s Outstanding Civilian Service Medal, one of the highest awards the Department of the Army can bestow upon a civilian, in recognition of his significant dedication to our military men and women around the world. He remains committed to supporting active duty and veteran members of our military through work with Operation Finally Home, the USO and more.

The latest album from Maggie Rose, Half Moon reveals the rare magic of hard-won momentum meeting a creative spirit in peak bloom. After devoting more than a decade to deepening her craft and unlocking the full force of her extraordinary voice, the Nashville-based singer/songwriter experienced a rapid rise in recognition, including scoring back-to-back GRAMMY nominations for her 2024 LP No One Gets Out Alive and 2025 single “Poison In My Well” and earning an Emerging Act Of The Year nod from the Americana Music Association in 2025. Rather than succumbing to the pressure of heightened expectation, Rose immersed herself in the making of her new album with effusive abandon. With its lovely alchemy of soulful symphonic pop, R&B, and Americana, Half Moon arrives as a document of divine expansion and self-discovery—ultimately extending an invitation to embrace every facet of ourselves with grace, courage, and a wide-open heart.

“At first it felt strange to receive all these accolades I’d been wanting for a long time—instead of grounding me, it made me feel anxious,” says Rose, who made her acclaimed full-length debut with 2013’s Cut to Impress. “But then the new songs started pouring out, and it felt like such a gift. I realized the recognition had come at a time when I was finally able to fully articulate who I am through my music, because of how my voice and my songwriting have evolved over the years. So if people are looking at me more closely, I’m glad they’re looking now.”

Co-produced by Lawrence Rothman (Amanda Shires, Margo Price) and Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves, Leon Bridges), Half Moon took shape through a charmed and fluid process that began with the three musicians meeting up every few weeks to write in Tashian’s home studio, taking advantage of his abundant stash of instruments (e.g., Mellotron, upright bass, a saloon-style piano). “We’d leave each session with these beautiful, fully conceived demos, and after a few songs it became apparent that something special was happening,” says Rose, who was eight months pregnant at the outset of the album’s creation. As they gave voice to the complexities of her inner life—her lived experience of womanhood, the sacredness of her closest bonds, the thrill and overwhelm of expecting her first child—the trio of collaborators surrendered to a shared journey Rothman sums up as “a year-long wild ride of writing, producing, crying, laughing, babies being born, and dreams coming to life.” Tashian, meanwhile, compares their creative kinship to “a bunch of kids building sandcastles on a beach and just enjoying the sunshine…We were all passengers, and the songs were taking us wherever they wanted to go.”

Six months after the birth of her son Graham, Rose headed to the historic RCA Studio A in Nashville and recorded Half Moon with an elite lineup of over two dozen musicians, finding the album’s true cohesion through the kinetic energy of people gathering in a room and giving the songs their fullest life. Along with top-tier players like guitarist Tom Bukovac (Emmylou Harris, Stevie Nicks), bassist Dennis Crouch (Elvis Costello, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss), and keyboardist Peter Levin (The Highwomen, Jason Isbell & the 400 Unit), that lineup included Rose’s touring band: percussionist Tim Burkhead, bassist Judd Fuller, guitarist M.P. Gannon, and multi-instrumentalist Cav Mims. The follow-up to her 2025 EP Cocoon, Rose’s fifth studio LP marks a bold departure from the rootsy soul of No One Gets Out Alive—a Best Americana Album GRAMMY nominee featured on best-of-the-year lists from the likes of Rolling Stone. Thanks in part to its lavish string arrangements and velvety horns, Half Moon unfolds with both sophisticated ease and daring grandiosity—a direct reflection of her newly widened emotional world.

Partly recorded at Sound Emporium Studios, Half Moon takes its title from its soul-searching centerpiece, written just two days before Graham was born. For Rose, the album intimately chronicles a season of profound personal transformation—a period in time she refers to as “this amazing moment of expecting and then giving birth, and re-emerging with a completely new part of my identity.” In sharing Half Moon with the world, she hopes to provide listeners with a similar sense of refuge and release.

MEET THE ARTISTS FROM THE SOUND OF NASHVILLE CONCERT PART 2 - JAKE BANFIELD

Jake Banfield’s music career couldn’t have happened without what felt like a cruel twist of fate. The Oklahoma native was an All-State point guard who had his sights set on his hoop dreams. Plans for a successful collegiate run and plans for a pro career in Europe felt possible. Those hopes were dashed when he suffered a knee injury that wasn’t treatable through a surgical procedure.

Bedridden but not out, Banfield turned inward. He picked up a guitar at a local pawn shop, learned how to play on his own, and took to writing music. Initially a hobby as he rehabbed from his injury, things would soon take a turn in a direction he never expected. Through social media, in particular, TikTok, Banfield released his acoustic-driven tunes. Primarily derived from his mental health experiences at the time, Banfield’s songs caught on, with “Hold Me” going viral.
After spending a few years writing for artists like Madison Beer, Anne-Marie, and Little Mix, he pursued his own career. His song “Lasso” - a pepped-up line dance song with hip-hop undertones - captured good-time vibes and quickly became a bar anthem. So much so that it amassed over 22 million streams in the first two months of its release and landed Jake on Spotify Viral 50 charts in 13+ countries, as well as iTunes charts in 20+ countries. That song, which is on his debut album, Open Bars, out everywhere via EMPIRE, set the tone for several of his radio-ready anthems. Jake is set for a monumental 2026 with non-stop new music releases and tour stops!

Do you know a child that’s currently in foster care or at risk of placement? Do you wish you had someone neutral involved to provide an outside perspective with the kid’s best interests at heart? An objective point of view?

When your case is assigned a CASA worker, you get a trained volunteer advocate who works to observe and understand the child’s situation. This person provides Family Court judges with impartial information about the circumstances of the children involved.

BROOKE MORIBER

Brooke Moriber is a singer/songwriter and native New Yorker who has paved
an unconventional path for herself in Country music. After getting her start at a
young age professionally performing on Broadway, Brooke turned to songwriting
as a teenager to cope with losing her eyesight to a rare eye disease. When the
disease went into remission after a difficult four years, Brooke began traveling to
Nashville to tell her own stories. Praised for her “clarion voice” (Associated
Press), she went on to release her first single “Cry Like A Girl” independently
and later signed with Nashville’s Reviver Records.

Brooke recently connected with Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Little
Anthony for a stirring duet rendition of the beloved classic “Hurt So Bad”,

Boil Water Advisory for Hyde Park and Surrounding Districts

The Dutchess County Department of Health advises that a boil water notice is in effect for customers of the Hyde Park Regional Water System, including Staatsburg, Zone D (Harbourd Hills), Zone L, Pinebrook Estates, and Jeffery Groves water systems. The Hyde Park Regional Water Plant experienced a system failure between 4:00 PM on August 30 and 7:00 AM on August 31, which caused a disruption in the chlorination disinfection system. As a precaution, residents are advised to boil their water before using it to ensure it is safe.

Customers should boil tap water for one minute and let it cool before use. Boiled or bottled water certified for sale by the New York State Department of Health should be used for:

• Drinking
• Making ice
• Brushing teeth
• Washing dishes
• Preparing food

Chlorination was restored on the morning of August 31 and operators are now checking chlorine levels and collecting bacteria samples throughout the system. The monitoring and testing process is expected to take between 2–4 days, and residents should continue boiling their water during this period. The notice will be lifted once results confirm the absence of bacteria.

Harmful microbes can cause stomach illness, especially for infants, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Anyone with ongoing symptoms should contact a healthcare provider.
