We are a union of over 400 certified educational professionals dedicated to serving all children attending public schools in the City of Poughkeepsie, New York. Our membership includes retirees, teachers, guidance counselors, social workers, psychologists, speech therapists, librarians, school nurse teachers as well as teachers who work in any summer school or adult education program conducted by

the district. We have been the exclusive bargaining agent for educators in the Poughkeepsie public schools well over 40 years. Our local is part of the 600,000 member New York State United Teachers (NYSUT). We are affiliated nationally with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association (NEA), and are proud to be part of the AFL-CIO.

The members of the Collective Care Team - school counselors, school nurses, school psychologists and school social workers - play an integral role in ensuring the growth and achievement of our students, both academically and personally.
