On Saturday, 11/21/2020, EMStar town of Pawling unit responded to a CPR in progress call. The unit consisting of Paramedic Max Sanchez and EMT Paul Casson Jr, with the help of pawling FD firefighters and Dutchess county sheriffs, initiated life saving efforts and and were able to save their patient. The crew was able to have the very rare opportunity to meet there patient again. For those in EMS, this is a something that many people can go a whole career without ever experiencing.

The function of a Logistics Specialist is to assist the Captain of Logistics with the proper and efficient operation of the EMStar Logistics Division.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Organizes, inventories, assembles, stocks, maintains, cleans, and retrieves/delivers supplies and equipment. Picks up and delivers company vehicles as assigned.

2) Ability to safely operate company vehicles. Observes all vehicle and traffic laws.

3) Maintains cleanliness of logistics, administrative, classroom and restroom areas of headquarters.

4) Assists in light repairs when needed. Washes and sanitizes vehicles as directed.

5) Provide a positive example regarding work ethic, attitude, professional ethics, knowledge of EMStar Policy and Procedures, interpersonal relations, and mutual respect

6) Provides guidance and support for personnel

7) Ensure that all of EMStar’s policies and procedures are met

8) Identifies issues or potential issues and communicates findings and appropriate recommendations for their resolution to logistics leadership.

9) Assists other divisions as needed

10) Maintains proper hygiene, and wears and maintains company issued uniforms.

11) All other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1) High School Diploma or G.E.D

2) Must have a valid, senior level class Driver’s License without restrictions

3) Ability to operate large trucks.

4) Familiarity with all agency policies, procedures, and guidelines

5) Ability to lift, carry and balance up to 125 pounds

6) Good inter-personal skills

7) Excellent documentation skills (promptness, accuracy, thoroughness, and legibility).

8) Be able to maintain a positive attitude under a variety of conditions, and relate appropriately to a variety of individuals.
