IMPORTANT NOTICE for customers of the Hyde Park Regional Water Supply:

(Please share with friends and neighbors who may not have seen this message.)

A system failure at the Hyde Park Regional Water Plant caused a disruption in chlorination between Aug. 30–31. Residents should boil water for one minute before using it until testing confirms the water is safe.

𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐬:

• Harbourd Hills
• Pinebrook Estates
• Jeffery Groves Estates

Testing is underway and expected to take 2–4 days. The notice will be lifted once results show no bacteria.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING issued for northern Dutchess County until 5:30pm.

Heavy rain, strong winds, quarter-size hail, and dangerous lightning expected. Wind gusts of up to 60 mph possible, which could result in trees and wires coming down. NEVER approach a downed wire. If storms impact your area, remain indoors, if possible.

🌧️A FLOOD WARNING remains in effect for Dutchess County until 4pm today.🌧️

⚠️Between 2-3 inches of rain have already fallen, with an additional 2” of rain expected before clearing out of the area later today.

⚠️Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow-moving or standing water.

⚠️REMEMBER: When you come to a flooded road, TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

⚠️ A FLASH FLOOD WARNING was issued early this morning for Dutchess County as rainfall continues resulting in road closures - Significant closures include: Route 9 in the Town of Fishkill, near Snow Valley is closed. Route 52 in the Town of East Fishkill, near John Jay High School is closed ⛔️ The FLOOD WARNING continues until 8pm tonight. Use caution on roadways this morning and never drive across a road covered in water.

•Route 52 & John Jay High School now OPEN in both directions.

•East Hook Road & Justamere Lane now OPEN in both directions.

🚧ROAD CLOSURES🚧

Be advised that Route 52, in front of John Jay High School, will be closed in both directions due to flooding conditions. *Detour: Patriot Way to iPark Boulevard.

There are also flooding conditions on East Hook Road at the intersection of Justamere Lane. This area is closed in both directions.

Please check back for updates and additional road closures as they become available.

We urge everyone to travel safely and allow yourself extra time to reach your destination.
