We love a happy reunion at the firehouse! This adorable family stopped by to thank Lt. Pickert and FF/PM Thomas for their response following an unexpected at-home birth. Our crew arrived just minutes after Mom and Dad welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world. With such an incredible start to his story, we are certain this little guy is destined for great things!

Four members of the Poulsbo Fire Department Wildland Team have deployed alongside multiple agencies to assist with the Spokane Complex Fire.

The team departed Poulsbo at 8:30 p.m. last night, arrived at base camp at approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning, and was immediately assigned to the fire line, where they worked through the night and into the day.

Their current assignment includes structure protection and hotspot mop-up operations. This work involves searching through burned homes and debris to locate and extinguish remaining hot spots, helping prevent flare-ups, and reducing the risk of additional structure losses.

The Spokane Complex Fire has burned approximately 5,390 acres and has damaged or destroyed an estimated 600 structures.

As a reminder, Kitsap County remains under a Phase I Burn Ban, which prohibits all outdoor burning except for recreational and cooking fires. Don’t be the spark that starts a wildfire!
