Why go natural? Much of the pollution in water occurs from polluted rain runoff. Rain washes the pesticides and chemicals from fertilizers off of your yard into nearby streets and storm drains. The water that flows into these storm systems is often untreated and goes directly into our local creeks and streams. You can still grow a healthy, beautiful lawn using natural yard techniques.

Today, KPUD staff lined the exit to wave goodbye to Rita Flaherty on her last day in the office after 15 years of dedicated service. 👋💙

Rita has been a constant source of support, knowledge, positivity, and kindness for so many employees and customers over the years. From customer service to helping build the foundation of our finance and HR operations, her impact on KPUD has been immeasurable.

We’ll miss her cheerful spirit, her willingness to always help others, and her famous “brookies,” and of course, her love of Hugh Jackman. 😊

Thank you, Rita, for everything you’ve done for KPUD and the people we serve. Congratulations on your retirement! We wish you many adventures, miles, and memories ahead!

☀️ Looks like it's going to be a hot summer! 🥵

With forecasts calling for hotter-than-normal temperatures in our area this year, it’s a good reminder that conserving water is especially important during times of high demand.

Simple steps to reduce water use can help take stress off our water systems and support reliable service for the entire community throughout the summer months. Every drop counts! 💧

A new NOAA forecast predicts that the Pacific Northwest is likely to see the a warm summer and the highest average departure from normal temperatures. See link below ⬇️
