✨ CTE Highlight – STEM ✨

In today's spotlight, we're featuring Pre-Engineering at Poulsbo Middle School. Students were building air-powered cars from scratch, starting with a block of wood and using a range of skills — filing, band saw work, scraping, attaching, and sanding — to shape and assemble their vehicles. Once complete, the cars will go head to head in a competition.

This course, which introduces students to technology, computer basics, measuring, engineering drawing, electricity, simple machines, and design, connects to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Career Cluster, helping students explore pathways in engineering, manufacturing, and technical design.

✨ CTE Highlight – STEM ✨

In today's spotlight, we're featuring Pre-Engineering II at Poulsbo Middle School. Students worked in small groups on a variety of hands-on engineering projects — building ROVs, constructing popsicle stick bridges (with up to 100 sticks), and assembling popsicle stick robots (with up to 50 sticks). Each project challenges students to think carefully about structure, design, and material constraints.

This course, which covers measurement, scale, architectural design, and manufacturing through calculation-based projects, connects to the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Career Cluster, helping students explore pathways in engineering, design, and advanced manufacturing.
