As one of our plans is coming together nicely to improve public safety we continue to reflect back on how we got to this point from our members families to the community support.

Van De Walle Farms in Beaver/Crivitz is one of those parts of our success. From the pulls out during blizzards, donations, community involvement they have had our backs. Austin also volunteers for Stephenson Fire Dept. helping us on MABAS calls on the bigger jobs.

This farm is ran by all family and you can tell by the pride in it or it's Annie's cooking that gives everyone the drive to keep it top notch and the same help during harvest coming back year after year!

Thanks Van De Walles for the years of support, Doc would be proud!

Very Special Thank You to our members Randy, Brody and Braxton Darga along with the whole Darga Dairy Farm Family for donating countless hours of volunteer time and knowledge we cannott put a dollar amount on.

They are a big family as when the boys park those planters and choppers to help a stranger the littles to the adults step up to keep the Dairy rolling through thick and thin as the cattle come first.

We would be lost without this caring family and wise humble business owners!

Special Thanks to Wildflower Photography LLC for the pictures!

Last night at 19:54 Pound & Brazeau were paged by Marinette County Dispatch for a fire alarm and water flow from a pump station in the building that was called in by an alarm company at Patz Pallett in the Township of Beaver.

Within a minute or 2 we were advised by a first in report by a member and also Marinette County Dispatchers of multiple 911 calls of heavy black smoke and flames coming from the north end of the building. Because of this important update we upgraded to a working still bringing in other resources due to a smaller municipal water supply and the potential fire load before we went en route.

When our trucks arrived on scene flames were coming out of the north end of the building while the sprinkler system that was installed weeks prior was helping control fire on the inside. A quick knockdown was performed on the outside and inside of the building. Grover/Porterfield set up their ladder to check fire extension in the roof and extinguished that problem while ground crews handled interior and exterior dangers. All inbound units were then cancelled as fire was contained. Because of MABAS Division 144 a quick plan was initiated by Marinette County Dispatchers..

Because of the sprinkler system, fire alarm system along with Marinette County Dispatchers expertise, the Sherriff deputies updates and everyone working together on their own time, minimal damage was done and an estimated couple of million dollars and several jobs were saved with no injuries.

We are thinking and saying our prayers for this family, responders, community and dispatchers.

This type of accident/emergency can make a dept. start from scratch. That is why it is so important to work together and support each other.

Tomorrow we ask you to please be prepared for the expected snow and be on your best fire prevention and carbon monoxide games. We get it, life happens and we will get to you no matter what but it will take some time.

We responded to 2 calls today and they were rough going. In this wet snow when our trucks stop.....we are stuck as the duallys are tough to get rolling again as they can't push the front tires as we lose all traction. Our personal tractors, trucks and pay loaders have blades and buckets ready to go and our several Farmer friends are on speed dial if we need snow moved fast and are spread out throughout the township to get us to you if you need us. But PLEASE PLEASE:

1. Make sure your heating device is clean no matter what you use

2. Your exhaust from furnaces are clear and stay clear throughout the storm.

3. If you lose power do not place a generator in enclosed areas.

4. Pre plan where to meet when and if a fire occurs

5. Get some fire extinguishers

6. Make sure your smoke alarms are working

7. Charge your phones during the day

8. Assume all power lines are live

9. Assume the power will come on at anytime when your fingers are in a fuse panel. If you don't know electricity do not put your fingers where they don't belong

10. Let the road crews do their job

11. Plan your exit plans

12. Do not travel unless absolutely necessary but get those blankets in your rig

Brazeau and Pound have members spread out throughout the townships and within a few miles of you. Many live within the Village also....we will get there but please do your best so they don't have to. We wish you all the world but if your world needs us we are ready thanks to your support throughout the years!

Great information from the Town of Peshtigo FD that would apply to you also in the Township Of Beaver. Spring is on the way ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒž

With warming temperatures and the rapid loss of snow cover, be sure to obtain your free DNR annual burning permit prior to doing any open burning in the Town of Peshtigo. We have already responded to several small fires resulting from escaped burns.

Apply on line at https://apps.dnr.wi.gov/burnpermits/ by completing the self-issued burning permit application. Then print your permit or have it mailed to you. Another option is to call 1-888-WIS-BURN (947-2876) to obtain your free burn permit.

Once you have a burning permit, remember to check the fire restrictions for the appropriate county after 9:00 a.m. each day before burning. Restrictions can change daily based on fire weather conditions. Burning may not be allowed at all on days having high fire danger.

For more information on burning permits go to: https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/forestfire/permits
