The Cobb County Retired Employees Association (CCREA) will be meeting on Wednesday,

I hope everyone enjoyed learning about exercise and fitness last month. This month we will be discussing an issue that is often not talked about much but is happening in Cobb County. Our speaker will be Tina Williford from The Table on Delk and she will speak about s*x trafficking and homelessness on Delk Road and grass roots efforts to intervene in it. Tina, her husband, and many volunteers have been working to help many people in Cobb find a better life.

We hope each of you will be able to attend and please encourage other retirees to join us. This is a great opportunity for fellowship and catching up with old friends. We will continue to work hard to provide information that is important to you and have speakers that you want to see and hear.

CCREA MEETING

June 17, 2026, at the West Cobb Senior Center at 11:30am.

I hope everyone enjoyed the cookout last month. Now that we are getting into the summer months, we want to look and feel good for the beaches and pools so this month our speaker will be Nancy Ingram Jordan (pronounced Jerdan). Nancy is a native Cobb Countian and has worked in the legal system for many years, but one of her passions has always been fitness, exercise, and training. She is a certified fitness trainer will be sharing her story with us and talking about the importance of exercise and trying to stay fit as we age.

We hope each of you will be able to attend and please encourage other retirees to join us. This is a great opportunity for fellowship and catching up with old friends.

The Cobb County Retired Employees Association (CCREA) will be meeting on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at the West Cobb Senior Center at 11:30 a.m.

This month we will have Cobb County Tax Assessor, Christine Stinchcomb, talking to us about the job of the Tax Assessor and the Board of Tax Assessors that set the digest for the county. She will also let you know how to appeal if you disagree with the assessment. I also ask that you save the date for the May 20th meeting when we have our annual cookout scheduled.

The funeral for Joe "Trooper Looper" B. Looper, a retired Cobb County police officer and community fixture in Marietta, Georgia, is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2026.
Service Details
Funeral Service: Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Piedmont Church (570 Piedmont Rd, Marietta, GA 30066).
Visitation: Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Marietta Funeral Home & Crematory (915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066).
Interment: Burial will follow the funeral service at Chandler Cemetery in Calhoun, Georgia.

Our Guest speaker is attorney Ryan K. Patrick, managing partner with Smith, Tumlin, McCurley & Patrick, P.C.. Mr. Patrick practices primarily in the areas of commercial and residential real estate, business transactions, estate planning and probate matters. Bring your questions, and we all will learn about estate planning and probate.

Cobb County Retired Employees Association (CCREA) will be meeting on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at the West Cobb Senior Center at 11:30 a.m.

We are doing something a little different at this meeting. We will have pizza for lunch and spend our time talking to each other. We will have an open microphone for people to talk to the group about anything they want to discuss. This could be things happening in your life or at home, talking about your travel experience, talking about tips others may benefit from, scams you may have experienced, or anything else you would like to share.
