Muhlenberg County Alert: A boil water advisory has been issued for the entire county until further notice

Muhlenberg County Alert: Water District 1 has issued a Boil Water Advisory effective 9/4/26 at 7:45am until further notice. The affected area will start at the intersection of Jess Winn Road and Myers Chapel Rd ending at the intersection of State Route 973 and State Route 8001. All side roads off Myers Chapel Rd and State Route 973 are included. Jess Winn Rd and State Route 8001 are not included. If you have any further questions contact your local water dept.

We are becoming more concerned about training thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall tonight. We've issued a flood watch that is in effect through 7 am CDT Thursday. Stay safe and monitor for possible warnings!

[12:55 PM Sunday, August 16th] The severe weather risk for this afternoon and evening has increased for areas along the Interstate 64 corridor from southwest IL into northern parts of southeast MO. The risk remains the same for everywhere else. Damaging wind gusts will be the main threat. A few storms could develop as early as 3-5 PM, but the main timeframe for severe storms will be between 8 PM and 1 AM.

A few severe thunderstorms are possible this week, with rain chances peaking in the evening. The greatest risk is on Wednesday when damaging winds and heavy downpours will be possible.
