The board members along with Superintendent Contessa Orr recognized Ms. Kate Doss for serving as our first student representative on our board. Ms. Doss graduated from Muhlenberg County High School last month and this was her last board meeting to serve. Best wishes, Kate!

At the June board meeting, the Board of Education recognized Ms. Kaley Miller as the 2025-2026 Student Teacher of the Year. This award is presented to a student teacher who student taught during the fall or spring semester of the 2025-2026 school year and demonstrated great potential as a future educator. Ms. Miller is in the process of being hired as a teacher at Muhlenberg South Elementary. Congratulations, Ms. Kaley Miller!

Incoming Superintendent Brian Lile was invited to speak at the joint meeting of the Central City Lions Club and Rotary Club today. He shared his vision for the school district and the community when he begins his new role. Several administrators from the Central Office were present for the meeting.

As we close the school year, we not only say goodbye to students but to some of our staff members. Today, the Central Office celebrated four district staff members who are retiring at the end of June: Matt Perkins-Assistant Superintendent, Lesa Vick-Receptionist, Jo Cooper-Food Services Director, and Sherri Bryant-Home and Hospital Teacher. The Central Office team celebrated with gifts for each of them along with a special lunch compliments of Chick-fil-A who honored Jo Cooper for feeding our entire school district with Chick-fil-A at the beginning of the month. Congratulations to each of these employees for what they have contributed to our school system for many years! Included in our pictures are visits by the Chick-fil-A cow at some of our schools a few weeks ago as well as our Central Office enjoying the treats.
