You’ll immerse yourself in beautiful Yellowstone country, taking only one class at a time in NWC’s Outdoor FOCUS. You’ll learn:

Technical Skills — whether it’s ice climbing, scuba diving, spelunking or bicycling, your skills become an innate part of who you are when you concentrate on nothing else. Spend 14 days kayaking with us. Leadership — live in the backcountry for two weeks and you’ll run s

mack into your raw leadership style and find out how well you communicate with others. Then you’ll refine that style by leading Wilderness Orientation Week and high- and low- challenge courses in NWC’s DELTA program. Career Options — you love the adventure of the outdoors, but it takes more than that to make a living. At NWC, you’ll work in the field with people who are getting paid to do what they love outside. You’ll find where your passion can take you in the workforce.

If you're headed out be prepared to know what the regulations are to prevent wildfires.

Full send ahead. As of 7:30 a.m. today July 18, the National Multi-Agency Coordination Group (NMAC) has raised the country to Preparedness Level 5 (PL5).

PL5 is the highest national wildfire preparedness level in the United States. It means wildfire activity is extreme, firefighting resources are heavily committed nationwide, and additional crews, aircraft, and equipment may be limited as agencies respond to multiple large, complex incidents simultaneous.

“Why would I need a lifejacket if I know how to swim?”
Is a common question asked when talking about lifejacket policy and enforcement.

The reality is that lifejackets are not there for when you can swim, but when you become incapacitated and cannot. One of the leading causes of death in national parks is drowning. Don’t become another statistic this holiday weekend.

Wear your lifejacket when you “don’t need to” so you already have it on when you do.
