Tonight I attended a public meeting with TDOT officials to discuss the Edgemoor Road widening project, currently scheduled to begin construction in February 2029. We had a great turnout, and our citizens asked tough, important questions about a project that will have a major impact on our community. While construction is still years away, it’s encouraging to see our community engaged, informed, and making sure their voices are heard.

TDOT State Route 170 (Edgemoor Road) Widening Project Update: TDOT will hold a meeting this Thursday from 5–7 PM at the Claxton Elementary gym for the property owners affected by the proposed project, which currently includes 69 homes and 18 businesses. If you are affected, you should have received a letter; the project is currently scheduled for construction in fall 2029 with an estimated cost of $350 million. Tonight, Terri and I are deeply humbled and honored by the trust the people of District 1 have placed in me. Thank you to the wonderful communities of Brushy Valley, Bull Run, and Claxton for electing me to continue serving as your Anderson County Commissioner. To every volunteer, supporter, friend, and family member who stood with us throughout this campaign—thank you. I look forward to continuing to work hard every day for the people of District 1.
