Tweens (ages 8-13) are invited to join us on Thursday, September at 5:30pm for the Tween Book Club.

We will be discussing "Restart: by Gordon Korman.

Chase Ambrose doesn’t remember falling off the roof. He doesn’t remember hitting his head. In fact, he doesn’t remember anything. He wakes up in a hospital room and suddenly has to learn his whole life over again... starting with his own name.

Okay, he’s Chase. But who is Chase? Soon he’s hearing stories of the alpha jock and bully who held a reign of terror over an entire school. Is that the person he was … and is destined to be again?

Is it possible to restart?

Congratulations to Naki for completing the 1000 Things Before Kindergarten challenge!

The 1,000 Things Before Kindergarten project is derived from the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten effort, which focuses solely on reading. However, 1,000 Things expands the concept to include STEAM topics (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) and social and emotional behaviors, such as singing songs and nursery rhymes, playing peekaboo, dancing to music, playing with blocks, and counting aloud.

Stop by the library today to sign your child up, and receive a free book for every 100th milestone, as well as a special book bag generously made and donated by the Woman's Club of Powhatan upon program completion.
