Another year of beekeeping has started, and we're excited to hit the ground running.

For the past 3-4 years, we have been proud to partner with Marty and Dr. Bauer at Nicaragua Bee Project to replenish our apiaries every Spring. It's a great program that raises money to equip and train beekeepers in Nicaragua, so that they can earn money through the sale of honey, wax, and other bee products. Pretty cool stuff, and we're happy to be a part of it, including posing as models in their latest Facebook post 😂. Be sure to check them out on Facebook.

NUCS4NICS

It was a successful nuc sale this past Saturday, May 2, 2026.
128 nucs were sold earning $6,000 for the Nicaragua Bee Project.
Thanks to all who purchased nucs and helped support our beekeeping efforts in Nicaragua.

We've been busy as bees (Hah! ... get it? ... is this thing on?) around the honey house lately.

In the last few weeks, we've happily completed a couple of custom-package jobs for both Katie Coppersmith and for Kelly Callahan. We hope you guys enjoy your honey!

We're also busy bottling honey, and in typical farm fashion, we're utilizing what we have. For us, that means using our plethora of Mason jars in lieu of our normal plastic squeeze bottles. Some people swear that glass is better, others swear by the durability and endurance of plastic. The one thing I can agree is that glass makes the honey LOOK and FEEL great in the bottle. There's just something special about it.

It's warming up out there, and the bees LOVE IT! We're out working the hives today, and with all the clover blooming and the sun shining the ladies barely even notice us.

You may have heard it's been a rough winter for many beekeepers, and we're here to add to the statistics: We suffered 100% loss. It's sad, yes, but beekeeping teaches resilience like few other things. Buried in the frustration, there's always hope. Spring brings another chance, more colonies, another beginning. Each new colony is a reminder that life returns, even after the harshest seasons. Keeping bees and overwintering them in Wisconsin is tough, but we're not going to give up. PS: Lots of honey is still available!

Hello from RVHC! We hope you're all enjoying the wonderful weather this weekend, and wish you Dads out there a very happy Father's day!

Our bees are out in full force and looking very healthy this year. We made it out yesterday for a bi-weekly hive inspection and the Spring/Summer mite treatment. This particular colony is busting at the seams and has already collected a fair amount of honey! Time to add another box!

Happy Thanksgiving from RVHC! We hope everyone gets to spend time with those they love.

We're thankful for BEES and other pollinators! Without them, we'd be without many of our favorite dishes on this wonderful holiday.
