Please help us welcome Carol Maynard to the Heart of America team! Carol will be joining us as the Walk to End Alzheimer's Manager for Northeast Kansas and Manhattan.

Carol relocated to Manhattan from Nashville, Tenn., a little over a year ago to be closer to family. She has been married to her college sweetheart for over 40 years and they have one son and one grandson. The family loves corgis and recently adopted a puppy mill rescue named Jolene.

"I am excited to be part of the Alzheimer's Association team and feel proud I will be able to honor my mother who recently passed from dementia," she said.

Under current law, Medicare cannot cover any dementia screening test for people without symptoms. ❌ Congress can remove this barrier like they did when they created a pathway for Medicare to cover blood-based cancer screening tests. ✔️ Urge Congress to support the bipartisan Alzheimer’s Screening and Prevention (ASAP) Act so Medicare can use this proven approach for Alzheimer’s. bit.ly/4kRjDXU
