City offices will be closed Monday for Labor Day. Monday will also be the final day to swim at the Prairie Village Pool. The complex will close at 5 p.m. that day.

The Labor Day holiday will create a one-day trash delay for all routes next week.

Monday routes will be collected Tuesday.
Tuesday routes will be collected Wednesday.
Wednesday routes will be collected Thursday.
Thursday routes will be collected Friday.
Friday routes will be collected Saturday.

Throughout the month of September, the Prairie Village Diversity Committee is collecting new and gently used children's clothing in partnership with Jewish Vocational Service (JVS), Kansas City. Donation bins are located inside of city hall at 7700 Mission Road.

Items to donate include: new or gently used, clean, summer and winter clothes for babies, kids, and teens

Shoes, boots, socks, underwear, jackets, coats, and winter hats are also accepted.

Mark your calendars! The Prairie Village Diversity Committee invites the community to Nuestra Comunidad, a fun, family-friendly celebration of Hispanic heritage and the many cultures, traditions and people that help make our community stronger.

Join us Saturday, Sept. 19 at 4 p.m. at Harmon Park for an afternoon and evening designed to bring neighbors together as we celebrate Hispanic heritage and create opportunities for connection.

Nuestra Comunidad—Our Community—is about more than a single culture or tradition. It’s about recognizing the many experiences and backgrounds that make Prairie Village a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

Guests can look forward to an event filled with community, culture, and family fun.

Whether you’re celebrating your own Hispanic heritage, learning more about the cultures represented in our community, or simply looking for a fun way to spend a Saturday with your family and neighbors, we hope you’ll join us.

We hope you can join us for some of these upcoming community celebrations!

📅September 8 - bring your best friend, good puppers and doggos to our annual Puppy Pool-ooza at the pool from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $5/dog, must have proof of current vaccines
📅September 12 - Enjoy an evening of jazz music, food, drinks, and community at the 15th Annual JazzFest in Harmon Park. Cost is $5 for adults and free for those under 18. Don't forget to bring a lawn chair or blanket. https://www.facebook.com/share/1DsdkzaELv/
