Our January PTO meeting is rescheduled to January 12th, 2026, at 6:30pm in the BV Library so anyone that would like to attend this informational meeting may.

The Prairie du Chien School District will host an informational meeting to discuss the closure of B.A. Kennedy School beginning with the 2026–27 school year and beyond. The school board voted 7-0 to close BAK starting in the 2026-27 school year due to budget constraints and declining student enrollment.

The closure is based on several factors, including declining enrollment projections, unsuccessful operating referendums, and the district’s responsibility to maintain a balanced and sustainable budget.

During the meeting, district administration will provide an update on the school consolidation planning process and address topics such as:
*Safety considerations: school fencing and student pick-up and drop-off.
*Bathroom locations --- Bathroom accessibility
*Future Bell schedules
*The use of two school buildings in the district
*Playgrounds and outdoor spaces
*Other operational areas impacted by consolidation for the 2026–27 school year

Community members are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and share feedback.
