Crawford County Wisconsin Crime Stoppers Our mission is to help law enforcement reduce and solve crime in our community as a means of making our area a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.

Crawford County (WI) Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization that is operated by a volunteer community Board of Directors and is in no way a part of any law enforcement department. Since 1990, local Wisconsin Crime Stoppers organizations have accounted for over 7,000 arrests, solved approximately 8,000 outstanding cases, recovered $2.6 million in stolen property, and confiscated $5.8 million in narcotics.

Town of Wauzeka - On Sunday, April 26th, 2026, at approximately 8:41 a.m., Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that Katherine Oswald (68) of Wauzeka, Wisconsin, and her dog had been struck by a motor vehicle while walking along Rhein Hollow Road in the Township of Wauzeka. The driver of the vehicle fled from the scene. Oswald and her dog sustained injures, and she was airlifted from the scene. During the investigation, it was determined that Donovan Bruns (31) of Wauzeka, Wisconsin, was the driver and he was operating his green 1996 Chevrolet Blazer. Bruns took extensive measures to hide and alter his vehicle in the State of Iowa. Bruns and his vehicle have been located, and he has been arrested and transported to jail on charges of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Reckless Driving Causing Great Bodily Harm, Duty Upon Striking Person, and Felony Obstruction. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Winneshiek County, Iowa, Sheriff’s Office, Mar Mac, Iowa, Police Department, Prairie du Chien Police Department, Milo’s Towing Service, and Don’s Towing Service. All individual(s) are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On Sunday, April 26th, 2026, at approximately 8:41 a.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a hit and run crash. A female pedestrian was walking her dog along Rhein Hollow Road in the Township of Wauzeka, and she and her dog were struck by a smaller greenish colored pickup truck driven by a younger male. The pedestrian and her dog sustained injuries, and she was airlifted from the scene. A picture of the color of the truck is attached. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the help of the public to identify the truck and driver. Please notify the Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers should you have any information.
