Sauk Prairie Ambulance The Sauk Prairie Ambulance Association was established in 1969 to provide emergency prehospital care

The Sauk Prairie Ambulance Association was established in 1969 to provide emergency prehospital care and transportation to an advanced care facility. The first ambulance and crews began serving the community in 1969. The Association is currently an EMT-Intermediate Tech service. The Association's district consists of the villages of Sauk City, Prairie du Sac and Merrimac; the townships of Merrimac

, Prairie du Sac, and Roxbury; and parts of the townships of Troy, Honey Creek, Sumpter and West Point. By a contract, those municipalities have delegated management of the Association to an Ambulance Service Commission. The Commission consists of a representative from each municipality and township. The Commission governs the administrative and financial aspects of the Association.

The Sauk Prairie Police Department supports the safe and lawful use of bicycles and properly classified e-bikes in our community. Bicycles and e-bikes provide convenient, accessible transportation, and many residents ride responsibly every day. Before purchasing or allowing your child to ride an electric-powered bicycle, take a few minutes to verify that it is legally classified as an e-bike under Wisconsin law. Many products marketed online as “e-bikes” may not meet Wisconsin’s legal definition. Some are actually electric motorcycles, commonly referred to as “e-motos,” which may not be legal to operate on public streets, sidewalks, bicycle lanes, or trails.

As always, ride smart and ride legal:
• 🪖 Wear a helmet
• 💡 Use lights and reflective gear when riding at night
• 🚦 Obey traffic laws and signals
• 🚶 Yield to pedestrians
• 🚲 Use bike lanes and paths where permitted
• 🔧 Keep your bicycle or e-bike in safe working condition

Please take a few minutes to understand what you’re riding and where you can legally ride it before heading out.

A safer community starts with informed riders.
