🔥 BASIC CHARACTERISTICS OF FIRE 🔥

Fire is not just flames.
It is fast, hot, toxic, and deadly.

Understanding how fire behaves can help people react earlier, escape faster, and stay alive.

⚠️ FAST
Modern fires can spread rapidly in just minutes—especially with today’s synthetic materials, plastics, and foam furnishings.

⚠️ DARK
Smoke can quickly reduce visibility inside a structure, making it difficult to find exits and increasing the risk of disorientation.

⚠️ HOT
Fire generates extreme heat that can burn skin, weaken structures, and ignite nearby materials through radiant heat and hot gases.

⚠️ DEADLY
Most fire victims are affected by smoke and toxic gases—not flames alone.

Smoke may contain:
• Carbon monoxide (CO)
• Hydrogen cyanide (HCN)
• Carbon dioxide (CO₂)
• Other toxic combustion gases

These gases can cause confusion, unconsciousness, and death within minutes.

🔥 Fire needs:
✔ Heat
✔ Fuel
✔ Oxygen

When these combine, flammable vapors ignite and fire grows rapidly.

– Extension Cords Are Not Permanent Wiring

Did you know improper use of extension cords is one of the common causes of home fires?

✔ Use extension cords for temporary use only
✔ Never run cords under rugs, doors, or furniture
✔ Plug major appliances directly into a wall outlet
✔ Replace cords that are frayed, cracked, damaged, or warm to the touch

Overloaded or damaged cords can overheat in minutes—putting your home and family at risk.

Stay alert. Check your cords before they become a fire hazard.

A FIRE EXTINGUISHER is not just something you hang on the wall.
👉 It’s your first line of defense when fire starts.

But here’s the truth—
most people have one…
but don’t know how to use it properly.

⚠️ PLACEMENT MATTERS

If it’s too high, too low, or blocked—
you lose precious seconds.

✔ Max 1.5 meters from the floor
✔ At least 10 cm clearance
✔ Always visible and accessible

Because in an emergency—
👉 you won’t have time to search for it.

✔ Pull the pin
✔ Aim at the base

🔥 LITHIUM-ION BATTERY SAFETY

Lithium-ion batteries are everywhere—
from e-bikes and phones to power tools and home devices.

⚠️ But when they fail, they can cause fast, intense, and hard-to-control fires.

In some cases—especially larger batteries like e-bikes—
👉 they can violently rupture or explode due to pressure buildup and gas ignition.

💡 WHY IT’S DANGEROUS

• Fires can grow rapidly (thermal runaway)
• Cells can fail one after another
• Re-ignition is possible even after the fire is out
• Produces toxic and flammable gases

🛑 REMEMBER: C.H.A.R.G.E. (UL FSRI)

🔌 C – Choose certified batteries and chargers
👉 Use trusted, tested products only

🤲 H – Handle with care
