Over the summer, the Prattville Police Department's Community Relations/School Resource Officer (SRO) Unit partnered with Autauga County Schools and Daniel Pratt Elementary to make sure our kids are staying involved in education through reading. 16 students participated in a n incentivized reading program, requiring each student to read at least 10 chapter books each, which they completely blew out of the water! Recently, an end of the program celebration was held where the top two readers were awarded with gift cards and all the kids who participated were treated to a pizza party! Everyone had a great time reading (and eating pizza) with our SRO's LT. C. Emmanuel and OFF. L. McDuffie. Give these kids a big round of applause and look out for similar programs through your local schools in the future!

We’re extremely proud of the support the community has given SGT. Sweat since her diagnosis and the beginning of her treatment. Everyone here at the PD is proud of her, not just for her outstanding work here at the Department, but the strength and determination she has exhibited to fight this thing head on. Please continue to root and pray for her as she continues her fight and recovery journey!

The Prattville Police Department conducted it's first quarterly in-service training session last night at the new Prattville Public Safety Building last night. Topic of discussion was focused on Use of Force and Decision Making with review of case law and PPD policy, taught by our own LT. Tyler Ray. It is always great to get all of our officers together across all shifts and units, not only to train on a very important topic, but for much needed fellowship and team building. We want to thank all that provided food, especially the spouses of the PPD officers for the amazing deserts!

We are the PPD Family and will always make sure that we are armed with the knowledge necessary to protect our citizens, but ourselves as well, training as ONE Department!

If you'd like to be a part of this great Family, there's still time to submit an application! Se our previous post for more information!
