We partnered with Autaugaville Volunteer Fire Department this week and conducted stabilization and extrication training. Rapid response to MVAs with the knowledge and tools needed to safely remove patients is an important service we provide our citizens. Training tonight was a team effort! The goal was to move the ball through the maze using extrication and shoring equipment, while maintaining stability and safety ("lift an inch, crib an inch"). Firefighters learned a lot about the capability of each tool and where to use each type of cribbing. Also found out that good communication is key! Great work everyone!

Congratulations to our very own Zach Smith, who completed FF1/2 and EMR while still in high school through the Fire Science program at Autauga County Technology Center. Today we were honored to attend his Skills USA "Signing Day" to celebrate his achievements!

We're proud of Zach and look forward to seeing where his hard work and dedication take him as he considers next steps.

Our thanks to Mr. Driver for teaching the program, and to Skills USA and Autauga County Schools for making the program possible.
