REMINDER!!!!
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but this is not something that we have any control over. This is not a State of Alabama issue, it is a federal guideline.

*IMPORTANT FOR ALL NEW APPLICANTS*

As of August 1, 2025 the Alabama Office of EMS will no longer accept an Alabama drivers license as proof of citizenship for an initial license. An approved document must be provided from List A that is included with the application for licensure and shown below.

*Please note that we understand that the first accepted document listed is a state drivers license, however, it also states the drivers license must indicate that the individual is a US citizen, which the Alabama drivers license does not. This is the case with many other state drivers licenses as well.

The process of verifying citizenship is not something that is unique to Alabama nor is it a process that Alabama has created. This is a federal guideline that we must adhere to.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, but we will work with you through this transitional process to the best of our abilities.
