🔥🚗 TONIGHT’S TRAINING: BAD DAY TO BE A CAR

Tonight the Preble Fire Department gathered for another highly sophisticated training exercise…

vehicle fires are no joke, and tonight gave our crew some great hands-on practice with hose lines, fire attack, and team work.

Another successful training in the books and another car that definitely won’t be passing inspection.

** always looking for donated vehicles we can practice on so we are ready for the real thing!

🚒 Training Night: vehicle extrication

Tonight, members of the Preble Fire Department spent the evening training on vehicle extrication techniques. Crews reviewed vehicle stabilization, glass management, hydraulic tool operations, and patient access, working together to safely remove simulated victims from a damaged vehicle.

Every hour spent training builds confidence, sharpens skills, and prepares us for the day someone in our community needs us most.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and put in the work. Training never stops because emergencies don’t wait.

🇺🇸🎆 HAPPY 4TH OF JULY, PREBLE! 🎆🇺🇸

Today is all about FREEDOM, questionable grilling, cold drinks, and someone’s uncle setting off a firework that was definitely purchased legally. 🦅💥

A few friendly reminders from your local fire department:

🔥 If you say “watch this” -reconsider.
🎆 If the firework says “stand back 200 feet” - that does not mean hold it.
🍺 Beer is not PPE.
🚗 Designate a driver.
🖐️✋You came into the holiday with 10 fingers. Let’s keep it that way.

Today we had the pleasure of marching in the Homer fire department field day parade!

Members of the Preble Fire Department conducted pump operations training at Little York Park. While the pump operator may not always be the most visible position on the fireground, it is one of the most important.

The operator is responsible for ensuring firefighters have a constant and reliable water supply, maintaining proper pressures, and supporting operations from start to finish.

Training like this helps keep our skills sharp and ensures we’re ready to provide the best service possible when the call comes in.

As always, we’re proud of the commitment our members show to training and serving the community. 🚒

Today, the Preble Fire Department proudly honors and remembers the fallen service members who sacrificed everything for our nation. We are forever grateful. Please celebrate safely and never forget the true meaning of Memorial Day.

Preble Fire department is proud to announce that Mike Potter has successfully completed a significant training milestone, marking a major step in his service to our community.

Their achievement reflects over 168 hours of prerequisite first aid, CPR, and FEMA ICS courses, as well as classroom instruction, hands‑on skills, and scenario‑based exercises designed to prepare him for the challenges of fire and rescue services.

Tonight Chief Ryne Austin and Past Chief Jeff Griswold were in attendance at Cortlandville Fire Department/ Cortland County Regional Training Center as FF Potter received his certificates.

So please join us in congratulating Mike Potter on his achievement and dedication to his community.
